A new futuristic bridge could be among the attractions visited by people staying in hotels in Wuxi in the future.

L & A Design Group has put forward plans for the design to create a pedestrian bridge which will be situated in the city's Xidong Central Park.

The bridge will connect the north and the south shores of the park and will create a man-made island in the middle.

It is designed in an S shape and will create a strong visual viewpoint, with the designers stating the curves of the structure reflect the park's strong relationship with water.

The bridge will offer stunning views across the park and by night it will be illuminated to provide another interesting feature in the outdoor space.

Earlier this month, tyre manufacture Bridgestone announced it would be increasing its operations in the city as demand grows for the advanced designs it produces across the country.
