The city of Shanghai has maintained its position as one of China’s trade and financial hubs, and also features mainland China’s biggest share market. In recent years China has established itself as the world’s most rapidly developing major economy. Shanghai is representative of China in this respect, being a booming commercial metropolis attracting millions of tourists and featuring myriad of exciting attractions and glamorous Shanghai five star hotels.

The Shanghai Hongqiao Linkong Economic Zone was established with the objective of attracting large-scale investment by multinational companies, whilst integrating city industry, advanced technology and transport access. Encompassing an area of 2.8 square kilometers, the Shanghai Hongqiao Linkong Economic Zone was conceived as an elite zone for company headquarters and advanced technology centres in the midst of a pleasant garden-like environment. Great care has been taken to retain large areas of greenery in the development zone, creating an attractive environment for today’s environmentally conscious companies.

With the aim of luring investment from major established companies, the authorities are emphasizing the centre’s attractions, including favourable regulations, convenient access to transport links and a skilled labour force. A particular focus has been creating an environment conducive to the operations of advanced technology firms. Already companies like ECS Technology China, Digital China and SYNNEX Corporation have established their presence at the zone. Other major players include the Zhengda Lotus Storage Market from Thailand and the Lenovo Group of China.  There is no doubt that the Shanghai Hongqiao Linkong Economic Zone is developing rapidly as was envisaged, with consistent investment and development by major companies.

The zone’s southern area in particular has evolved into a concentrated commercial hub, with companies having established office buildings, regional headquarters, research and development centres as well as sales departments in this area.
