The exhibition center features 42 exhibition halls, over a hundred conference rooms, in addition to a cinema, banquet, café and offices. The Shanghai Exhibition Center is divided in two sections, the north half of the building contains several halls known as Introductory Hall, Central Hall, No. 1 East Hall and No. 2 West Hall. The south half of the complex features the exhibition space. The architecture of the structure also won an award for its unique Russian style or Stalinist architecture and was deemed in 1989 to be one of Shanghai’s top 10 pieces of architecture during the period 1949 to 1989. Then again in 1999 it was awarded a Gold Medal for being one of Shanghai’s top 10 Classical Architecture pieces. With so much acclaim being thrown towards this structure there is no doubt as to the beauty of its construction. Its Russian influenced appearance also sets it apart from most of the other structures that are present in Shanghai.
