News|Human library opens in BeijingThe city has opened its newest library, which offers visitors the chance to interact with people rather than books, Xinhaunet.com reported. Many readers turned up to the opening of the venue on Saturday December 24th 2011, with six other people appearing as the living books, offering forward their life stories and exchanging ideas with the others present. Li Xingning, who ran the human library, told the website: "Here we get to know people who have interesting life stories to share, and also understand who they are and why they live in a particular way." She said her hope was for the library to allow people from different walks of life to meet and find out more about each other. As well as getting a new library, Beijing will also soon be home to more green terraces on people's roofs, as the city looks to encourage the creation of more garden spaces.
