One of France's most famous pianists will be tinkling the ivories in China this month - Jean-Efflam Bavouzet will be playing his Beethoven cycle in Beijing.

Bavouzet is one of the most accomplished performers of Beethoven's music in the world, having won the 1986 International Beethoven Competition and his eight-part Beethoven sonata cycle will surely be impressive.

Featured in the cycle will be some of the composer's earliest work, including Sonata Number 1 in F minor, which was written to make piece with his former teacher, Hayden.

The pieces will highlight the ongoing career of the composer, through to his violent and tragic compositions in later life when his deafness was becoming increasingly overcoming.

Visitors can see the whole cycle run from September 19th to September 21st at the Forbidden City Concert Hall.

So make sure you don't have an unfinished symphony of your own by missing Jean-Efflam Bavouzet play his Beethoven cycle in Beijing.
