Beijing’s Central Business District is the heart of this fast growing nation’s economy. Important government buildings, corporate offices of China’s largest companies and upscale residential apartments are all located in this bustling commercial area. Situated towards the eastern side of urban Beijing, the Central Business District is geographically located between the 3rd and 4th Ring Roads.

The government has earmarked this area as a region of immense future development. This area is expected to become a global hub for business following the completion of the project. The headquarters of the Chinese CCTV Corporation and the residential apartments cum office building development known as the Fortune Plaza are major development programs that are currently underway.   

This area had been planned as a four square kilometer business hub in 1993 and currently is the home of 3,000 business establishments including 500 multinational companies, 600 foreign branch offices and 150 financial institutions.

Among the important landmarks in this district is China World Trade Centre Tower 3, which is poised to be Beijing's tallest skyscraper at 330 meters. This building which will feature office space as well as residential apartments is slated to be completed in 2009. The Jing Guang Centre is also an important location, it previously held the title of being Beijing's tallest building, and today it's 53 floors house many important corporate offices.
