Sevens took place in 1970, where the Staffordshire Regiment emerged as champions. A crowning glory
was the rugby supporters, seen scattered along the touchline, inciting the crowd to encourage their
teams. With the intention of creating a memorable sporting event, the rugby extravaganza has proved
to be a resounding success, continuing to grow in strength each year.
